A severely emaciated dog, that weighed little over 7Kg when he was adopted, is now on the mend thanks in part to Naturediet.
Ben, a two-year old Welsh Collie was rescued from his abusive owner back in July 2008. Extremely under weight, he had lost most of his hair and was covered in fleas and ticks with open sores across his body.
He was adopted by Steven Pearsall, an animal enthusiast from Birmingham. Steven Recalls; “Ben was living quite close to me and I had seen him from time to time tied outside the local pub. On one occasion I witnessed him being kicked into submission by a man who claimed to be his owner. Shortly after, I was approached by the owner and asked if I knew of anyone who wanted a dog. I immediately put myself forward to let Ben into my life.”
Remarkable Recovery
When adopted, Ben weighed a paltry 7.26Kg, less than half his ideal weight. Steven immediately sought advice from his local vet, where Ben was treated for fleas, ticks, and mange. Just over six months later he has made a miraculous recovery. He now weighs over 14kg and is well on the way to his target weight of 16.5kg. His skin has cleared up and he now has a thick coat of hair with great shine and condition. Adopted owner Steven attributes this recovery to Naturediet.
“Shortly after adopting Ben I saw a poster for Naturediet and put him on it straightaway, as I believe in only feeding the best food with no chemicals or nasty additives. The Naturediet menus smell great, in fact I even had a little taste myself. Ben just loves them, especially Lamb, it doesn’t stay in his bowl long when I put it down”.
Steven concluded; “With Ben being my first dog, I have been on a bit of a steep learning curve and I know I couldn’t have managed it without the help and advice I received from Naturediet”.
