News - Double kick-off in the Baltic States
Always on the move on the ‘home continent’, Naturediet is proud to announce 2 exciting new partnerships in the Baltic States.
Following successful partnerships in Scandinavia, Naturediet has now joined forces with distributors Interaltus and Zooserviss in Estonia and Latvia respectively.
With a population of barely 1,3 million and less than 80 pet stores in the country, one could forgive pet food manufacturers for overlooking Estonia while exploring new markets in the EU. For Naturediet however, the country offered the perfect opportunity to expand its operations in the Baltic. Earlier this spring, the holistic pet food manufacturer started sending its first orders to Estonian distribution partner Interaltus.
Established in 1994 by the Kõrge family, Interaltus is one of the premier suppliers of specialty food products in the country. Speaking from the company’s Tallinn headquarters, Managing Director Erki Kõrge and Purchase Manager Rasuljon Qambaraliyev explain: “The focus of our company has always been on making premium food brands from outside our own country available to the entire Estonian public. Good examples of this strategy are our exclusive representations of Haribo (candy), Ritter Sport (chocolate) and Alpro Soya (dairy products). We were also keen on sourcing and selling the best branded quality pet food. Naturediet is in our view simply the best quality product on the European market. So we did not hesitate, we briefed our main clients, which include prestigious department stores like Stockmann and Kaubamaja, and luxury supermarkets like Selver and Rimi, and are now seeing our sales of this 100% natural ‘wonderfood’ rapidly taking-off. Dog owners in Estonia are not spoiled, but the price-quality ratio of Naturediet is a pleasant surprise to them, especially considering its excellent palatability. Positive feedback from consumers proves we have made the right choice.”
Estonia’s southern neighbour Latvia is a different challenge altogether, with both the country and the market for pet products discernibly larger. These differences however have not affected Naturediet’s entry into the market; even on the contrary, thanks to its new co-operation with experienced pet food distributor Zooserviss.
Based in Ogre, outside of Riga, Zooserviss Director Igor Kubasov comments: “We have recently opened the largest pet store in the Baltic States, the Zoo Centr in Valmiera, and although in our chain of 37 shops, we have already disposed of the top brands in every discipline (dog, cat, small animal, bird and fish), it was evident for me from the outset that Naturediet would be a valuable addition to our portfolio. Its unique products are superior to anything we have seen so far on the market, and we expect to see sales picking-up in the other pet specialty stores throughout Latvia very soon.”
Speaking on the subject, Naturediet Export Sales Manager Sander van Kesteren said: “Both Interaltus and Zooserviss are top players in our industry nowadays in their respective countries, and offer the best commercial and logistic service our company could wish for. Their commitment to our brand underlines Naturediet’s position as a premium dog food supplier, that is increasingly recognised outside the United Kingdom.”
