Dancer's Story

“Early November 2009 our collie cross died. As with our previous dog we knew the best thing to do in her memory was to give a home to another dog needing one. We did some research and came across Dancer, a beautiful two-year-old lilac tri-colour border collie. Her history is as follows:

Because of her unusual colour her breeder had kept Dancer and was entering her in shows. After 18 months the lady became ill and Dancer had to be rehomed.  Unfortunately this did not work out as they already had another bitch of the same age. Dancer then went to a different breeder so another home could be found. This third home already had cats and as neither were used to each other this combination did not work either. Dancer then went back to the second breeder where we saw her on bonfire night.

Due to all the upheaval in the past 8 months Dancer was a very quiet, demoralised little dog who did not even wag her tail. She was frightened of any sudden movement and would go and hide in corners curled in a tight ball. With love and patience over the past 9 months we have been able to change all that and she now wags her tail whenever we talk to her and comes to us for cuddles. She is a beautiful sweet natured little girl who loves her walks especially if we have a ball. She plays and dances round the house all day - but with a name like "Magreena Shall We Dance", or Dancer for short, what would you expect? She is lovely but then we are biased.”
